Borders Bistro @ Borders

Bistro Salad (Egg, honey baked ham, balsamic sauce, olive, green veg, etc): $12

Sateed Mushrooms: $7
This is not worth the price. The mushroom is small-portion and the sliced mushroom is too thin. Should have thicker cut to have better bite-texture.

Vongole Al Vino: $14.50

The clams are very small and look very minced. Well, the aglio Olio is not too oily compared to other places, but it is a little bit too salty. There is another aglio olio with prawns. So maybe you want to try out that one, which is very highly recommend by one of my friends. She said its the best aglio olio.. Go and try it and can tell me what you think? =)

Overall Verdict: The aircon-tables are not very good. Alot of Flies. Urghh..I told the older waiter there, but he seems to ignore what I have said and just clear the plates and walked away. Shitty feeling..

Well, most probably not come back again. I can better spent this amount of money somewhere!! =)

ITACHO @ ION

This is the best sushi place I have ever been to. I am not referring to the service. I am referring to the food items!! Before I go into describe how good the food are, I am going to complain about their service. They are not attentive and they are not sure about their own item. I guess this is bad enough in terms of bad service.

Luckily their food is really good, else they are not going to survive!

This is the tips on how to eat sushi. I never notice that we should not dip the rice into the soya soy sauce. We should only dip fish with the sauce.

This is the sweet prawn with urchin sushi. Well, I can't eat prawn. But my friend love this!! This type of seaweed wrapped sushi is known as 'Warship' sushi.

There are 2 types of squid. They have grilled ones and they have boiled ones (come with special sauce) The above is the boiled one. This dish is so so only. Can don't order, save the $$ for more sushi. =)

This is the scallop sashimi. Well, this is one of the best among places like Ichiban. It is still not the biggest I have ever eaten. However, it is very very fresh and sweet!

This is the Miso-Crab meat warship sushi. I can really taste the 'sea'. The miso paste really complement the crab meat, bringing out the sweetness of the crab meat.

The crab meat sushi is good, the Ika sushi is good, all are good!! Not much to talk about cos they are considered the more common type of sushi. Lets look at the one on the top left hand corner of the picture above. This is the scallop topped with goose liver!!! Well, ultimately tasty....

This is the spicy tuna inari sushi.. The inari is think, and very Q. Not the same as the normal inari sushi found at the Ichiban. Must try the inari sushi here if you like it! =)

This is very cute. But you can't have enough of it man!! Its like so small portion for $4.90. But it is fresh and tasty!! I love this!

Our favourite Mekajiki (Swordfish) sashimi. NIce, very nice. But not thick enough. Haha..

This slightly grilled salmon sushi with green veg is ok, not must try.

This is the Chawanmushi. There are a few flavour. The 'soup' is really really sweet and very flavourful. You will feel yourself swimming in the sea when you eat this.

MUST Try!!

Overall verdict: This is a must try place if you love sushi, if you don't like sushi in the first place, you may want to change your mind?haha.. The price here is definitely not cheap. The food you saw above cost us $69.90. I think i did not miss out any item. All those we ordered should be shown above.

But because the food is so so so nice. We will still be back once in a while to indulge! Sushi elsewhere will seems so normal and bland after you have been to ITACHO..

Fruit * Paradise (Orchard Central Branch)

We were very attracted to this Cafe restaurant by their beautiful fruit tarts. They have quite alot of flavours; Strawberry Chocolate, Tropical Fruit, Mango, Mixed Berries Chocolate etc etc etc....

Price per slice is about $7.80.

There proper meal choices are very very limited. They only have curry. They have Vege Curry, Mushroom curry, Pork and Eggplan Curry and Golden black curry rice. Very limited...

Cheapest set is $10.80 and the most expensive is $14.80.

Greens that come with the Set: Nice Sauce (Wafu type)

Vegetable Curry Rice:

We were very disappointed with the portion. Really pathetic. If you don't mind paying $10.80 for a portion like this (see carefully at the ingredients), you can go all out to try. The curry is actually very nice (not the typical Japanese curry, this one is more 'tomato'- flavoured) and is SPICY! but bearable. =)

Mushroom Curry Rice:

Curry should taste the same for all the various types of curry set. Only the ingredient is different.

This is the Strawberry Chocolate Tart:

Portion is rather small. Its under my expectation.  Alot of fruit bits, not bad.

We ordered a Tea Set consisting of a tart and a choice of blended Tea. We ordered Shangria:

Tea Set cost $9.80

To summarise, the food portion looks not worth it. The pictures I have taken look deceiving, they looks like "Wow, alot of ingredients". But actually it is not. Anyway, the taste is good. I am not sure if its this branch? We will give it a try again at the Vivo Branch! =)

House of Ken Noodle (@ Cuppage area)

This place is rather secluded at the corner of the building (which i forgot the name). However, It can be recognised easily with the very authentic japanese style.

I love the Cold noodle here. Its cold enough and the noodle is very very QQ. This is the Q-est Ramen i have ever tasted for Cold Noodle. The sesame sauce is not too overpowering but you can really taste the sesame. Mixed with the yellow Wasabi, Wo Wo yeah yeah...Nice.. I also like the bamboo shoot very much..*slurp*

Cold Noodle:$ 12 or $14 (can't remember)

On Another occasion:

Char Siew Rice: $ 4
The Char Siew Rice is really cool! The sauce is good, not too salty, not too sweet. You must try it on your own. But this is a hot item!! If you go too late, it will be sold out.. I have missed it a few times already!

GyoZa: $5 or $6 (can't remember)

The Gyoza here is one of the best I have tasted so far. Skin is pan-fried till very crispy. The meat within is also nice. The 'chive/garlic' taste is not too overpowering (if you know what type of taste I am referring to).

Hot Soupy Ramen: $12-14 (Can't remember)

There are various types of ramen, they also have Kimuchi Ramen. For those spicy soup lover, haha..you can try. But I like it alittle more sour, so I will add in my own dosage of vinegar into my noodle. =)

The soup is thick, oily (but its a norm for most Japanese ramen, this one considered ok compared to the Ma****ma and etc).....

The Egg is just ok, not those Oozy type.. =)
