DOZO @ Valley Point Shopping Centre

Dear all,

Dozo has its degustation menu which features Japanses, French and European cuisine. It is also very particular on how food is presented.

For each food category; Starter, main, soup dessert, drink etc...They have a few items to choose from. See below:

When we were here few months back, we shared a 7 courses set which cost $59.80. Hmm, if you are a big eater, you may want to consider have a set to yourself? =) I think they do change their menu once in a while, to add more variety to the menu and cater to those who went there frequent...

Lets look at the food:

This drink is for you to 'wash and clear' your taste budz..After every dish, you are supposed to drink this so that you can have a true taste of the next dish:

Chef's selection of Assorted Platter:

Can't remember what is this, sorry...but i remembered its tasty!

Salmon slice with light cream:

Scallop with some foam...scallop is fresh!

King crab claw salad drizzled with Sesame Vinaigrette: the crab claw is fresh and personally I like vinaigrette, so I like this dish a lot. =):

Tempura battered soft shell crab on mash potato:
Basically the mash potato tastes very 'original', the soft shell crab is crispy and not oily..nice..The other 2 pieces are some tempura vegetable pieces..

Crab Bisque Cappuccino style:
very fresh and sweeet...its the sweetness of the fresh seafood kind of sweet..heee..and its very foamy, like drinking cappuccino..

Hmm...can't remember what type of fish this is, just so so, if not I will remember..haha

Oh yeah, i have some impression of this dish:
Kurubuta Pork cheek with Onion Jam, its deep fried and this dish is good =)

Espresso Creme Brulee: Special, don't order if you don't like coffee, don't order...try other things

Warm chocolate cake: Hmm...quite normal..

This is funny, marshmallow with chocolate sauce..not really nice..if its melted marshmallow then shiok!

Hmm...if you have not tried this place before, no harm trying!!! come once, and actually I never thought of returning.. but the food is not bad ok.. just that I will feel more hearty eating food that comes in bigger portion? But if you like such sampler size food, you should come ok!!

Imperial Herbal & Sinchi Tcafe

Hey everyone...

There are two types of menu here...

They have the normal 'expensive', higher end dishes which cost like those in the normal restaurant.

They also have cheaper dishes, which come in 1 size only. The prices of this 'menu' ranges from $5-$10...They are really quite tasty and reasonably priced!!

Take a look:

Fried Tofu with unique creamy Pumpkin sauce, topped with some pork floss: (must try)

Bai Cai with assorted mushroom: Not bad, a dish to make our meal more balanced with vegetable =)

Xiao Long Bao: Not bad, can try. My order of preference for Xiao Long Bao, first choice to last choice:
Imperial Treasure, Crystal Jade (depend on the branch), Imperial Herbal, Ding tai fung... Haven try other places' yet... So you can make your own gauge how this will taste...

Sweet and sour pork with cucumber: Good, goes well with rice. =)

Mei Cai Kou Rou (preserved vegetable with pork belly):
Nice nice nice, not too salty and goes well with rice too!=)

Lightly-fried long bean with pork floss: This dish is normal, can try other vegetable if you don't fancy long bean...

Yu Xiang Qie Zi (Brinjal with mince meat bean sauce): NIce nice nice nice..heee...provided if you like brinjal..Good with Rice!!!

Is a deep-fried dessert, made with egg white and red bean paste withiin, topped with icing sugar..NICE!! =)

They have a list of tea, you can take ur pick, its nice, to drink it during or after meal to feel more refreshed...

Satisfied!!!

鹿港小镇Asian Kitchen

When we dine here, we usual order their longgan drink (nice nice, like Cheng teng), 1 vege-dish, 1 roast duck and thats it...We can fill ourselves quite well with just these 2 dishes, they go very well with white rice. =)

We love the roast duck here..
There are 3 flavours if I did not remembe wrongly; Original, Herbal and Plum.

We ate Dian Xiao Er's roast duck too. Hmm, I think both restaurant do their roast duck quite well.

Well, put it this way, 鹿港小镇Asian Kitchen & Dian Xiao Er  are not those restaurant which I will make special trip to eat kinda restaurant. They are those which we will be glad to step into for dinner/lunch when there are not many other choices..SO...yup..

They do sell taiwanese snacks like Mee Sua(面线), Lu Rou Fan(卤肉贩) etc... We haven try yet though, but saw people ordered before and they look quite good. =))

These are what we will usually order when are visit here:

Roast duck (Plum sauce):

Xiao Bai Cai with 3 types of eggs (century egg, normal egg and salted egg):

Like I mentioned, we will come back for sure anytime we feel like it.. The food are really not bad and worth trying.. =)

Price for 2 plain rice, 1 duck-dish, 1 vege-dish and 1 longgan drink is about $30 for 2 persons...I did not say its cheap, but normal compared to places like Crystal jade, imperial kitchen etc...

Freshly baked by Le Bijoux...

Address: Along the shophouses at Kiliney Road...first corner stall nearest to the ERP gantry..is this easier to picture?hahah

Apparently I always see queues and crowds in this stall and always wonder why...

I went in once and took a quick scan.. I saw a varieties of normal and healthy bread, cakes, sponge cakes and so on...

Did not buy anything on the first visit but on the second passing-by visit, I can't resist the look of the chocolate sponge cake and decided to get Half a loaf, which cost $4.80. This is not cheap at all as there are only 4 slices from the half loaf..

Anyway, bottomline is, I will definitely get something next time when I pass by again and yes, their chocolate sponge cake is REally NICE.. They are moist and not too sweet, but yet you still can really taste the rich chocolate..worth trying!!

They sell other stuff, i always see quite a lot of people eating their breakfast set.. check out their website to see what they have in stall! =)

If you drive, maybe you can stopped at the many-people-stopped-by double yellow line along Kiliney and grab something?

If you don't drive, perhaps you won't purposely walk here as its two to three streets away from Orchard central..may be a little too far out for you.. but like I always do, if pass by then buy la! =)

Level 33 @ MBFC Tower 1

The view here is really great!!
At MBS, you can't see the MBS itself..haha..You get what I mean, over here, you get to see the 'Durian', the 'spaceship', fullerton hotel, the sea, the river, the sheares bridge..all..see this: My personal collection of Singapore's skyline...

They have both indoor and outdoor dining. They serve outdoor menu indoor but they do not serve indoor menu outdoor.. You got it? haha..

We decided to go outdoor for their beer dining as we want to secure seats outdoor to enjoy the scenery... The beer dining menu is good! =) See below:

Their freshly brewed craft beers:

Nice brew!!! =)

Here comes the food photo:

Sizzling Beef Cubes: (about $16-$20, can't remember the price)
Very Q and juicy, they are likely about 75% cooked. It tastes superb with a slice of the garlic, really shiok!! This dish comes with a japanese soy-sauce (with some wasabi). Very unique and refreshing! Please order if you like beef...

Fish & Chips: ($14)
Black cod fish on the top, potato cube at the bottom. This is a bite size snack, each mouthful satisfy you with a good mix of potato and black cod...*grin*

Meatball: ($9)
Danish Style meatballs. Meatball is served with some purple pickles and mustard sauce...This dish is not Wow wow, however, if you crave for meatball, this dish can still make the mark to satisfy you to a certain extend...

Rice paper roll with duck and vege fillings as seen: (forgot the price, should be between $10-$15). This is really not very nice, hard rice paper roll. Fillings are very 'healthy' tasting and ...should be the healtiest dish on the menu...can don't order

Molten Lava Cake, from the indoor menu: ($16-$20, can't remember)
Not worth the price. The chocolate filling is not chocolate-rich enough. And the cake is not soft enough..Don't order...

I am sure I will come back again for the beer dining and the beer!! Its a good place for both dating and group chilling session, especially with the great scenery.

ETNA @ Duxton

We had a good time here.. Food is good, the boss is very friendly and he will walk around chatting up with his customers. A little stress for me because I am afraid he can't understand my Sing-lish since he is a Italiano....haaa

The food here is expensive of course.. 2 persons spending about $100 on 1 salad, 2 mains and 1 dessert.

Trying to take the fire for their Pizza...

Bread with olive oil and vinegrette:

Prosciutto e Melone $22
Slices lf Parma Ham on Rock melon: The Parma ham is not too saltish and the combination is superb. This is the best Parma Ham Rock Melon that we have had before.. =)))

Linguine al Granchio e Crema di Aragosta $24
Flat pasta with crab meat in pink lobster sauce: This is a regular dish that I would like to order whenever I visit Pasta places. The portion of crab meat is quite generous, but not the super chunky sort, which I had before at the restaurant at Changi Hotel. But this is a good dish to order if you like tomato cream sauce..

Risotto ai Porcini $23
Italian rice with porcini mushrooms in a light cream and parmesan cheese
Hmm....this is one of the best risotto I have eaten, the cheese is light but flavourful. The mushroom is very soft and 'silky' and melts in the mouth..However, I feel quite not worth it spending $23 on 'mushroom rice'. Top up with $2 you can order another risotto with prawns, or seafood risotto at the same price.. =)

Taste of the food? Quite obvious...

Their Specialty dessert:
Tiramisu al Pistacchio $10
Tiramisu with pistachio flavour (from Bronte in Sicily)
This dessert has no alcohol content and the pistachio shavings on the top is really quite unique. Have not seen such dessert elsewhere and the Pistachio is from Sicily (Italy)..haha.. So its a must-try ba.. =))

Great place to dine here on a special occasion! =)
Will visit again when I feel rich ..haha
